What is An Fianna?

An Fianna is a unique Pagan website, a place for the for the more serious minded pagan to seek, share, socialize, and discuss real information on paganism, and it's paths, in a frank and honest manner.......

An Fianna is dedicated to promoting accurate and factual understanding of the cultures and pre-christian societies from which modern paganism draws breath.

An Fianna honour's indigenous traditions, real paganism, and sincere seekers who put Truth above ego or power-trips.

An Fianna honours pagans who live their paths, wherever they find themselves.
An Fianna seeks to provide a fluff free space for serious pagans, a refuge in which they can express themselves, and a space where glib and facile misinformation is not tolerated.

An Fianna has a simple ethos:
We are not a teaching site: Although you may learn by being here it is not the purpose of AF to teach newcomers.
Newbies are welcome, but whether they get anything out of AF will depend on themselves, on whether they contribute to the discussions and are willing to have their preconceptions challenged.
An Fianna requires active membership:

Members are required to post an Introduction immediately upon joining, and to post at regular intervals. Inactive accounts are deleted. We do not encourage people to join in order to simply read other’s ideas. AF membership implies a willingness to engage with your fellow members and to contribute.

An Fianna questions everything:

From your first post to your last, An Fianna members have developed an ethos and tradition of questioning everything. This is not a personal attack nor will complaints on this be tolerated by admin. As long as no personal comments are passed, there is nothing wrong in any member questioning the validity or source of any statement or claim.
Claims of superpowers, initiation into ancient but hidden traditions, unbroken pagan lineage from pre-christian times, relationship to or descent from fairies, and other RPG-type fantasies will be closely questioned.


We shoot trolls

We do not engage in conversation, nor do we feed them, we simply shoot them then delete them. Administrators decisions are final on all decisions to delete or suspend members
